The whole street called computers a passing fad. Mahesh disagreed. With his parents’ blessing — and their savings — he turned a room in the family home into Plus Point: the first computer institute in Mumbai’s suburbs after Andheri.
Foreseeing the call-centre boom, Mahesh founded Speakwell to close India’s English-communication gap. Backed by Mumbai Angels and Gray Matters Capital, it grew into one of India’s largest spoken-English networks — and an NSDC partner.
COVID closed 100+ centres overnight. Mahesh moved teaching online at ₹999, gave hundreds of TV interviews, and built a 40-member call centre from home — the very infrastructure that later powered SAP training. Resilience, on screen.
Today, Mahesh is building ADTA — the Aerospace Drone Technology Academy — training drone pilots and technicians for an industry set to create 10 lakh+ jobs by 2030. The same instinct that opened a computer centre in 1989 is now pointed straight at the open sky.
